About
5 questions

Savey is a money app built for how people in Nigeria earn and spend. You can spend, budget, save and track your progress, all in naira. Budgeting comes first: the idea is that every naira has a job before it leaves your wallet.

Anyone managing money in Nigeria. Salary earners, traders, freelancers, students. If money comes in and you want more control over where it goes, Savey is for you.

No. Savey is a technology company, not a bank, and doesn't hold a CBN licence of its own. We build the app. A licensed partner provides your wallet and holds the money in it.

You can use Savey in your browser today at app.savey.africa and add it to your home screen like an app. Android and iPhone apps are on the way.

Yes. People use Savey every day, but we're still adding features and fixing things based on what users tell us. If something doesn't work the way you expect, let us know.

Getting started
6 questions

Your phone number, your BVN and your NIN. It takes a few minutes, and you start on Tier 1 straight away.

There are three. Every wallet starts on Tier 1. Tiers 2 and 3 let you hold more and send more each day. The app shows your current limits and what each upgrade needs.

Go to your profile in the app and follow the upgrade steps. Higher tiers ask for more details, like a valid ID, proof of address and your signature.

Yes, by bank transfer from any Nigerian bank, to the account number shown in your Savey app. It usually shows up within minutes.

Withdrawals to your bank account usually go through within minutes. If yours hasn't arrived after 30 minutes, contact support with the date and amount and we'll trace it.

Don't send it again. Message support with the date and amount, and we'll trace it and credit your wallet.

Spend
7 questions

Send and receive money, pay bills, transfer to any Nigerian bank, and see all your transactions in one place.

Yes, straight from your wallet.

Yes. Share your Savey account details to receive money, or send a request to the person who owes you.

Yes: airtime, data, electricity and cable TV. The app shows which billers are available.

Yes. Set up a one-off or recurring payment in the app, and change or cancel it any time before it goes out.

Yes. Split a bill with friends or family and Savey sends each person a request for their share.

Yes. Your transactions are sorted into categories, so you can see what went on food, transport, bills and everything else.

Budget
5 questions

Pick a category, set how much you want to spend and for how long. Savey tracks your spending against it, so you always know how much you've used and how much is left.

Anything you spend on: food, transport, rent, data, family support, going out. Use the categories in the app.

Yes. Choose when you want a heads-up — say at 80% of a budget — and Savey alerts you when you get there.

Yes. You can adjust an active budget and look back at how past budgets went.

Yes. Budget analytics show your income, your spending by category, and how you did against each budget.

Savings
7 questions

Four, depending on how much flexibility you want:

• Savings Pots — save towards a goal at your own pace. Withdraw any time.

• Fixed Savings — lock money away until a date you choose. It unlocks on that date.

• Rainy Day — a part of what you spend is set aside automatically.

• Esusu — save together with a group, the way you know it.

The BSG looks at your income, spending and plans, and gives you a savings plan that fits: what to save for first, and how much to put aside.

Money set aside for something specific, like rent, school fees, a trip or a new phone. You can open as many pots as you need and track each one separately.

No. Fixed Savings stay locked until the date you chose. That's the point: the money is out of reach until you planned to use it. If you want to be able to withdraw, use a Savings Pot.

Each time you spend, Savey puts a part of it aside into your Rainy Day savings. You barely notice it going, and it builds up for the days you need it.

Esusu brings group contributions into the app. Everyone contributes by the group's rules, Savey keeps track of who has paid, and payouts follow the agreed order. Nobody has to chase anybody. A platform charge applies, and you'll see it before you join.

Points for good saving habits. Save consistently and you earn points, build streaks, unlock achievements and move up reward levels.

Savey Score
4 questions

One number that shows how your money habits are going. It looks at how you spend, budget, save and move towards your goals inside Savey.

No. It isn't a credit score and it doesn't decide whether you can borrow. It's there to help you see your own progress.

From what you do in Savey: sticking to budgets, saving regularly, keeping spending in check and hitting goals.

Yes. It moves as your habits change, and the app shows you what pushed it up or down.

Seva
5 questions

Seva is the money coach inside Savey. It answers questions about your own money, using your budgets and spending.

Things like "Where did my money go this month?", "Can I afford this?" or "How much should I save for rent?"

Yes, for now. If that changes, we'll tell you in the app well before it does.

Yes. Seva reads the information in your Savey account — your transactions, budgets and savings — so its answers are about your money, not general tips.

No. Seva helps you understand your money and make better day-to-day decisions. For big financial decisions, talk to a qualified professional.

Safety
5 questions

With our licensed partner, not in Savey's own accounts. Savey runs the app; the partner provides your wallet and holds the funds in it.

Your information is encrypted when it's sent and when it's stored. We don't sell your financial data. Savey is registered with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

To confirm that the account is really yours. Every wallet has to be tied to a verified identity before it can hold money. Your BVN and NIN don't let us see your bank balance or move money from your bank account.

Your account is locked with your password and a 4-digit PIN, and we confirm new devices with a code sent to your phone. Never share your PIN or codes with anyone, including people who say they work for Savey. We will never ask for them.

Contact the Help Centre straight away. We'll need to check your account with you directly.

Fees & account
6 questions

Creating an account and budgeting are free. Some transactions carry a small fee, and Esusu has a platform charge.

In the app, before you confirm any transaction. No fee is taken without being shown to you first.

Contact the Help Centre. We'll need to verify it's you before changing anything.

Tap "Forgot password" on the login screen. If that doesn't work, contact the Help Centre.

Yes, any time. Move your balance to your bank account first, then close your account from the app or ask support to do it for you.

Through the Help Centre. We're available Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm WAT, and usually reply within 2 to 4 hours.
